The elephant man


The protagonist of the book is in the circus making a show called elephant men where he is the protagonist. The people paid to see him, and once taking out the curtain he turned up and everybody called. A day among the public there was a doctor who surprised him, once the show finished the doctor paid to the owner of the circus to keep the man for a day. He accepted and the doctor took the opportunity to make him prove and to investigate about his bumps. After few days the circus went with the elephant men to Belgium there, Mr. Merrik his real name, complained about that they treated him like an animal and the circus the following day left him. He decides to come back to London so that the doctor helps him but in the station he looks at everybody strange until some persons bring themselves over to him and they want to take out the bag that brings for him to the head.

In the end a policeman comes and the Mr. Merrik is brought to hospital. Once in hospital the doctor decides that agrees on living in hospital always to have him in own to educate him like being a person. The following days he keeps on becoming famous and even the kings of other countries want to know him. The Mr. Merrik only could sleep in a special chair for him and his bumps. A day the doctor made him to revises him would hate about the size of his bumps and he saw that they had increased. He was all day long worried about if anybody would pass him or not. When to go to sleep he decided of sleeping in bed and not on the chair. The day after the nurse went him to wake up but   Mr. Merrik was dead because the nose had been broken while he slept.
